transportation-planning.com was founded by Roy Symons P.Eng. in December 2014. It is a place to record my random thoughts on how we move around, whether by walking or cycling, transit or automobile, and how urban design influences that.
Roy is a graduate of the B.Eng. Civil and Transportation Engineering program at Napier University, Edinburgh in 2000. He worked as a Transportation Planner on a variety of projects throughout Scotland before moving to British Columbia in 2008. Today, Roy is Manager of Transportation Planning with ISL Engineering and Land Services in British Columbia. He now spends his time working to improve communities by making good transportation planning decisions.
